Three suspects—Eze Ayitu, Ofuokwu Samuel, and Emmanuel Ameh—were arrested, while two others, Noble Philip and his partner Kenneth, remain on the run. The raid also uncovered several items suspected to be proceeds of illicit drug trade, including luxury vehicles such as a Toyota Prado Landcruiser and Toyota Sienna, as well as electronics like new and used TV sets and refrigerators.
In another operation, NDLEA operatives intercepted a shipment of opioids being transported from Kano to the Niger Republic and Yobe State. The drugs were found in a Toyota Sienna vehicle, leading to the arrest of two suspects, while a follow-up operation in Kano led to the capture of Jamilu Muhammad, the supplier, and the discovery of over two million opioid pills.
Further seizures included drugs concealed in religious books and body cream destined for Saudi Arabia, and additional consignments of pentazocine and bromazepam heading to Canada.
In a separate bust at the Seme border, three Ghanaian women were arrested for attempting to smuggle 4.8 kilograms of cannabis into Nigeria.
